URGENT

Analyst’s Note: The reopening of the slip point has allowed me to receive these logged transmissions from a cul-de-sac comms channel inside Periphery.

I don’t know if anyone is picking up these things, but I was told that this relay inlet would be monitored. This is Elang Vronski, and something big is happening here in Periphery that you need to know about.

I was assigned to a bait-and-detain mission for Ridgeway Mining, on the asteroid Kudos to Angelico, as I told you in my last update. You wanted me to make sure that the Starbound perps didn’t get the fuel, no matter what. Well, they didn’t get the fuel, you’ll be happy to hear, but it wasn’t because of me.

There’s somebody new in Periphery. A dropship appeared over the combat zone. Nothing like I’ve seen before. Big, at least up there with a Cataphract-class, I reckon. It looked like they dropped three, maybe four tactical zeos. About the mass of a Rakke, less than a Stormer. Can’t give you anything more accurate than that because my zeo couldn’t get a register on them. Nothing at all like it in the security database you gave me access to.

They were fast, and cut through the Troopers around the megaharvester in seconds. Again, energy signatures were not in the database; I’ve no idea what sort of weapons they were using. Close-combat specialists, but with some kind of high-energy ranged element. I know it sounds mad, but it was like they had swords that shot ultra-intensity flamebursts.

They zeroed in fast on the megaharvester. Obliterated the Amaroq and Rakke we’d been detailed to capture. Just carved them up without breaking stride. I think one of them was hit pretty bad going in but didn’t stop. Could be some material evidence left at the scene. Couldn’t check—as will become clear, I got the hell out of there soon after. You wouldn’t have been getting this otherwise.

Anyway, they hit the Pact zeos and then took out the megaharvester itself. Just tore their way into the control cab. The dropship came down as the zeos surrounded the exotic matter crystals, and then that’s when I decided to get going back to our lifter. Some of them drones came after me, fast as a pursuit unit.

I was the only one that made it off and back to the transport. I think they spotted us. Pilot, Kelsie Janaski, has put us on full burn in-system. They might be following us, so I’m sending this ASAP. If you have units in the area, you need to mobilize them.

I’ve attached what little could be recognized from my gun-cams and the transport footage. It happened so quickly, I wasn’t able to think about getting closer for a better look.

Signing off.
